Programme Development

Favouring no fixed ideology, we scan the world for tools and techniques that can best help companies compete in their unique situations. Because of the results we help companies achieve, they return to INSEAD seeking to further challenge, energise and preapre their management teams to meet the comptetion head on.

Needs Assesment

Building a relationship of trust and confidentiality is key when developing a successful programme with INSEAD. Frequent and open communication ensures that we share your company's issues as they evolve and that we react in a timely and appropriate fashion.

An initial meeting between your designated company contact(s) and our client team is the first step in developing a comprehensive understanding of your organisational needs. During this process, you will meet a faculty member who is interested in working with you to develop a solution for your company, and be assigned a relationship manager who will oversee both the development process of your programme and your relationship with the school as a whole.

The needs assessment process is a dynamic one, with both parties continually refining their views on the needs of the company in order to set programme objectives. Once this process has been completed, the key strategic areas to be addressed will be identified and presented for your approval.

Analysis and Programmme Design

At this stage, the faculty member who best fits your desired interaction style and pedagogical agenda is proposed as Programme Director. The Programme Director plays a pivotal role in the development of your programme, acting as your principal contact at INSEAD for all academic matters.

Based on subsequent discussions with your company, the Programme Director and client manager submit a programme design and faculty team proposal, with suggestions on both content and pedagogical process. Once this proposal has been approved, the team begins to conduct in-depth interviews with your top management and potential participants, using the information they gather to fine-tune programme content and finalise the pedagogical format. These serve to elaborate a detailed schedule and programme plan.

Programme Delivery

We believe it is important to take managers away from their day-to-day environment in order to allow them to test ideas in a risk-free setting. Our programmes are therefore intense and residential, and most often held on INSEAD campuses in Fontainebleau and Singapore, or at Wharton's campuses in the United States. A typical day runs from 8:30 to 18:00 and includes a variety of pedagogical approaches: lectures, discussions on a case or company, various types of group work, simulations, role-playing, etc. INSEAD programmes increasingly benefit from a wide range of virtual links, from pre-programme webcast and web platforms to web-based simulations.

Evenings are devoted to preparation for the next day and special events such as guest lectures or social activities. All logistical aspects of your programme are managed by your Programme Coordinator. Be it for a three-day workshop or a multi-week programme, our outstanding international faculty guides participants through your challenging agenda, motivating them to give the best of themselves and encouraging out-of-the-box thinking at every stage.

Post Programme

Client companies and INSEAD focus on the organisational impact of a programme. Together we design in specific post-programme follow-up to manage and the measure the impact of learning. We define with the client "what is success" at the beginning of the design, and measure it afterwards. Measuring organizational impact (MOI) is a key element for a programme. Every INSEAD Company Specific Programme is reviewed and evaluated both during and following the programme.

Programme review sessions are held at regular intervals during the programme life cycle and involve the Programme Director, the Executive Education team and your company. Such sessions enable us to share the feedback from the faculty team, the participants and from your senior management, and provide an opportunity to offer suggestions and consider alternative innovation and development processes as the programme unfolds.
